Mary Hayes originates from Tulsa, Oklahoma. She began playing the violin at the age of 5. In middle school and high school she played in the Tulsa Honors Orchestra, Tulsa Youth Symphony, as well as her school orchestra.
Mary graduated from Friends University in 2001 with a degree in Music Education. She has taught orchestra and general music in the Wichita Public Schools for 24 years. She has played in the Friends University chamber orchestra, the Friends Community Symphony Orchestra, the Hutchinson Symphony Orchestra, the Newton Mid-Kansas Symphony Orchestra, as well as her church orchestra.
Mary has taught private violin, viola, and cello lessons for over 20 years. Her lessons teach the strong foundation of music and the instruments, focusing on each student’s interest and style.
